My gray sofa is easily the most versatile piece of furniture I own, and it’s been a while since
I first celebrated it. Five years after purchase, and it still supports my every style-and-color whim with all the aplomb of Day 1.
I can swap out pillows and accessories anytime—even paint the room—and good ol’ gray still works. In fact, it looks so completely different with each new way I dress it that you could easily call it the chameleon of sofas. My gray sofa is charcoal chenille in a transitional style, but gray sofas carry the heavy design load from light to nearly black, from tweed to velvet, and from antique to modern.
The raspberry-and-pink-on-gray-sofa room designed by Alessandra Branca in the above photo puts me in the summer spirit (think strawberry sorbet!), but so do these 29 others…
