The Architectural Digest "Living With Color" issue is out, full of plenty of home-decor eye candy for all us boho mamas who need our fix of color porn. I ran across this insightful quote in the column of Amy Astley, AD's new editor:
“The purest and most thoughtful minds
are those which love color the most.”

I couldn't have said it better my-boho-color-craving-self!
And then there was this, in Mitch Owens' article on a truly hallucinogenic Hong Kong residence designed by Mattia Bonetti:
“If people who can afford incredible decors
keep commissioning bland minimalist interiors—
which, I admit, are much easier to sell—
it’s the end of decoration.”

Well, I doubt the situation is that extreme, but it's in that spirit AD online posted 25 exuberantly colored rooms from its archives. They're all a must-see for their sheer saturation of color, but here are two I especially adore:

This Marrakech riad belonged to the late Chilean artist Claudio Bravo and was inherited by one of his friends, which left me wondering about how I've yet to be in anyone's will outside of my own parents', as well as how to find friends with such great stuff to will to lil'-o-boho-me. Pic #2 from the AD archive slideshow on color called out to me more for its gallery walls on sterioids than the screaming orange rug and coverlet (which I also love and which stand up to the activity on the walls with great aplomb). It's the upstate New York home of photographer Pieter Estersohn. The textiles are Turkish and French, and the home is Greek Revival.

It's admittedly not boho, though this living room might qualify. The building is circa 1836, and its owner Thomas Jayne has wonderfully decked it oh-so-eclectically. Don't miss the absolutely GORGEOUS de Gornay mural wallpapers. See it all HERE.

Like when you have a wall hanging such as this, bound to steal the show. Even so, the bed is a studied blend of pattern and solid, and the room itself is absolutely brimming with color. This look and more dissected in "Justina Blakeney's Tips for Creating a Layered Bedding Look."

I'm so looking forward to the weekend. Indianapolis, where I live, has been suffering a case of the muggies for the last couple weeks, and lower humidities and temps are said to be moving in tomorrow, just in time for hubs and I to finish up painting our master bath cabinet. The mirror-framing kit we ordered is due in tomorrow as well, so by Sunday all the odds and ends in our master bath reno should be cleaned up, which means you can expect pictures next week.
